Behind the scenes of Love Never Dies at The Fabulous Fox

A few behind the scenes secrets

They are familiar characters in a new show that picks up 10 years after we saw Christine sail away in The Phantom of the Opera.

"The audience comes into a dark void, it's not a big flashy curtain, we're hiding all the spectacle," explains Bronson Norris Murphy.

He's the actor behind the mask in Love Never Dies.

"It might be trite to say it's a dream come true, but it really is. Phantom of the Opera was my favorite shows growing up."

His beautiful leading lady is Meghan Picerno.

"This is backstage, welcome to the beauty beneath."

An actress who gets to slip into some spectacular costumes.

"The piece de resistance, if you will, is when she sings the title song Love Never Dies and she transforms into a beautiful peacock and it is this stunning dress," she says pulling it off the rack.

It's hand beaded and when the tail is attached weighs about 35 pounds.

"I literally run off stage behind the current and there's an army of people that rip me out of one thing and put me back in another and I'm drinking water and like getting this done and all of my earrings and everything."

The costumes, however, are just a piece of this dazzling puzzle.

"Here's the Phantom's organ," Murphy points out.

It's playable, but silent.

"Even the sheet music that is here normally has Love Never Dies written on it and like marks through it."

He does that with a quill, but no ink.

"This basically is a secret, it's velcroed to the organ so I can't knock it off while I'm singing the song."

There are so many massive set pieces, but it's the tiniest details that most people never even notice. For example there's a pencil sharpener to make sure the reporters pencils are on point.

"And the letter is exactly what you hear in the show." he says taking it out of the envelope.

So Love Never Dies may be the sequel to Phantom, but it's a mesmerizing show in it's right.
