Recipe: California Burger

It's National Cheeseburger Day and Matt Wagner from Fleming's Prime Steakhouse is here to help us spice things up a bit.

Recipe: California Burger

Ingredients:

  • 1 Burger Patty
  • ½ tsp Kosher Salt
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Burger Bun
  • 2 TBSP Canola Oil
  • 1 slice Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 tsp Smoked Jalapeno Aioli
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Arugula
  • 1 slice Bacon
  • ¼ Avocado

Directions:

  1. Season both sides on burger patty with Salt & Pepper
  2. Sear in hot sauté pan for 1 minute on each side
  3. Place the burger on a metal plate and cook in a 400⁰ oven to the desired temperature
  4. Spray bun with Oil on both sides, and toast to golden brown in a hot sauté pan
  5. Place Cheese on burger and lightly melt cheese in oven
  6. Place Aioli on both buns, place Tomato then Arugula on bottom bun
  7. Place Burger over Arugula, top with Bacon (1)
  8. Cut Avocado into 4 slices and place over Bacon (2)
  9. Transfer Burger onto the plate and lean top bun on Burger
  10. Serve with French Fries or your favorite side item (3)

Smoked Jalapeno Aioli

Ingredients:

  • 1.75 oz Chipotle Peppers in Adobe
  • 1TBSP Lime Juice
  • ½ Cup chili Sauce
  • 1 ½ cups Mayo
  • ¼ tsp Kosher Salt

Directions:

  1. Remove Chipotle Peppers from can
  2. Puree in Robot Coupe with Lime Juice
  3. Place Chipotle Peppers and remaining ingredients into mixing bowl
  4. Mix thoroughly for 30 seconds
  5. Transfer to a container and refrigerate
