'It’s been a blessing' | St. Louis woman creates Jennifer Lopez's 'bling' cups

Teneka Moore started slinging cups in 2012 when she started her online company Taylor Made Bling

ST. LOUIS — When Jennifer Lopez was singing at President Joe Biden’s inauguration, a St. Louis business started humming.

“Since the inauguration, oh my gosh. It’s just like, boom,” said Teneka Moore.

People were reaching out to Moore to get their hands on the blinged out cup that Lopez was drinking from.

“It just all about the cups. They see her with it, they gotta have it,” Moore told 5 On Your Side.

Moore is the creator of the flashy cup.

“I don’t think I ever would have dreamed that I would be, you know, slinging cups,” she said.

She started slinging cups in 2012 when she started her online company Taylor Made Bling.

“It is named for my daughter Taylor,” she said.

When it comes to her style, there is a difference between bling and bedazzled.

“You say bedazzled, it’s kind of like go to Michael’s, pick up a bucket of rhinestone type of thing and that’s not what I do,” she said. “I think it is more like a lifestyle. A blingy lifestyle, luxury lifestyle. Shine, sparkle.”

It is a labor of love to make things sparkle.

“Blood, sweat and tears go into each and every cup,” she said.

All of her cups are made by hand.

“One crystal at a time. I wish I had a robot in my basement where I could just go press a machine and wa-la. But it does not work like that,” Moore said.

Moore’s work is paying off. Last year, she gave up her job in human resources to devote all of her time to her business.

“It was just like you know, I’m going to step out on faith and this is going to be great. And then it’s like, the pandemic hit and then it’s like, should I go back to work?” laughed Moore.

But the leap has worked out.

“It’s been a blessing for sure,” she said.

Now Moore and her cups have a moment she won’t soon forget.

“It’s historic, it was a historic moment. And to be able to look back and remember this moment and also kinda connect it to, oh we did a cup for that,” Moore said about the inauguration.

Moore has different price points for her cups with the high-end being around $600. If you're interested in buying a cup, check out her website.
