Hunt is on for new, limited white pumpkin ale, thanks to Schlafly

The Saint Louis brewery releases only 1,000 bottles of an exclusive variant of one of their most popular seasonal beers

It is becoming more evident, via social media, that there is clearly a population of beer drinkers who love pumpkin beer and a population of beer drinkers who hate pumpkin beer.

This new information will make pumpkin beer lovers smile while making pumpkin beer haters get their hate on a bit earlier than expected.

Today, Schlafly announced the debut of a new, limited release variant of its renowned and mega-popular seasonal pumpkin ale. The brewery is releasing just 1,000 bottles of a White Pumpkin Ale, and will intermix the new beer inside six-packs of its traditional Pumpkin Ale.

The White Pumpkin Ale isn't as big a beer as it's cousin, coming in at 6.0% Alcohol By Volume ABV, compared to the traditional Pumpkin Ale’s 8.0%.

“There are a lot of pumpkin beer haters out there,” says Founding Brewer Stephen Hale, “until they try ours. It’s a classic, but the White Pumpkin variant is a fun way to spice (pun intended) things up this year.”

The White Ale will pour slightly hazy, with a gold hue. On the nose and tongue, you'll get the punch of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove spices. The White Pumpkin Ale is brewed with Magnum hops and grains of Pale, Euro Pils, Carapils, White Wheat and Flaked Oats.

Only one bottle of the White Pumpkin Ale will be available in random six-packs of the traditional of the Pumpkin Ale so seekers will need to look closely for the white label contrasting to the style’s signature orange.

“It’s a fun, autumnal ‘Easter egg’ for consumers to seek out in Pumpkin Ale six-packs," said Hale.

Frequently referred to as “pumpkin pie in a glass” – a well-balanced brew from start to finish with notes of caramel and ginger throughout. Fermented in pounds of fresh pumpkin squash, brewer’s wort, and sugar before being filtered through a cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg spice infusion. “The end result is exactly how we intend it to taste: like a slice of pie in a bottle,” says Hale.

Six-packs of Pumpkin Ale are $13.99 suggested retail price.
