A national chain of shopping malls has announced it's closing all of its malls this Thanksgiving, and that'll affect four St. Louis area malls.

Mid Rivers Mall, South County Center, St. Clair Square and West County Center will all be closed on Thanksgiving Day and open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.

The malls' owner, CBL & Associates Properties, Inc., says it would like to give employees a chance to spend the holiday with their families, as well as bring back the excitement of Black Friday shopping as the true start of the holiday shopping season.

The move comes after Black Friday opening dates inched earlier and earlier at many major retailers, often overlapping into the Thanksgiving holiday.

What do you think? Would you like to see more retailers close completely on Thanksgiving Day?
