KP Development is set to break ground Thursday on the first of many buildings that will comprise the "Fenton Logistic Park" at the former Chrysler plant site in Fenton, Missouri.

In July, KP Development announced the site could soon become a logistics park that could bring thousands of jobs back to the area. On Thursday, the project will begin with a groundbreaking at 10 Thursday morning.

The development group closed on its acquisition of the site in 2014 and invested $10 million in improvements for the site.

As the buildings continue to go up and more tenants are lined up, the location will feature nearly 1.2 million square feet of manufacturing, logistics and warehouse spare, a press release from KP Development said Tuesday.
