Yoshi, on-demand gas, car care service, available in St. Louis

The startup company added not just a membership service, but new jobs, too.

ST. LOUIS — A startup company which serves your idling car while parked at home has made its way to St. Louis.

Yoshi, a subscription service for on-site refueling and car maintenance, announced their service expansion to St. Louis beginning Monday. The service offers gas delivery, weekly refueling, free tire checks, windshield cleaning, wiper replacements, car washes and more.

Gas delivery costs $7 on top of the price of gasoline. Their membership costs $20 per month, including weekly refueling deliveries. Additionally, each dollar spent towards car care goes towards 'Yoshi Points,' a reward system built towards free car services.

Cleveland joined St. Louis in their expansion, becoming the ninth and tenth metro areas served by Yoshi. The company said the two cities were chosen based on their "high proportions of car commuters." They joined Austin, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco and others.

The startup is hiring for a driver to take care of service calls. The job, which pays $20 per hour, is guaranteed at least 40 hours each week. Yoshi requires each driver to be "excellent, safe and cautious." A smartphone is required, as is a basic understanding of Google Maps. To apply for the position, visit their job listings.

To sign up for the service, visit Yoshi's website. However, metro area users should note the service currently applies only to the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County at this time. Further areas, such as the Metro East or the St. Charles County, are unavailable at this time.
