MISSOURI -- Three separate gun stores were broken into within an hour of each other early Friday morning.
Now, police are looking into whether they were related.
A spokesperson for the St. Charles City Police Department said that at around 3:04 a.m. Friday on Madison Street, three men in hoodies broke out the window to Kirkwood Outfitters Inc's front door and went inside.
They appeared to search around but didn't find any guns that weren't inside the store's safe, so they left empty-handed.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said that at around 3:30 a.m., two suspects broke out the front window to Modern Weapon Systems on Biltmore Drive in Fenton. The suspects looked around inside and then left. The owner arrived shortly afterward and confirmed that nothing was taken.
A little after 4 a.m., the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said that the Cabela's at the St. Louis Outlet Mall in Hazelwood was broken into and two guns were stolen.
No other information about the suspects has been released.
The ATF asked anyone with information to call 1-800-ATF-GUNS.
