A St. Louis woman is facing charges after police said she crashed into a fire truck while driving drunk in October 2016.
According to charging documents, Carrie A. Robbins, 41, crashed into the fire truck while firefighters were conducting training on the 4900 block of Seibert Avenue on Oct. 3, 2016. Witnesses told police they saw Robbins accelerate before ramming the parked truck.
The woman told witnesses that she had been drinking and was attempting to kill herself. She agreed to have blood drawn for a blood-alcohol test. The results showed she had a BAC of .175.
As a result of the crash, one firefighter suffered a torn rotator cuff and another firefighter was injured diving out of the way of the truck. The fire truck also sustained $750 in damage.
Robbins was charged with second-degree vehicular assault, third-degree assault on emergency personnel and first-degree property damage.
