OVERLAND, Mo. — What started as a drunk man shooting a gun ended with a chase and crash, police in St. Louis County said Wednesday morning.

Overland Police Chief Andy Mackey described the suspect as “highly intoxicated” and said he was shooting a gun in front of his home early in the morning.

Officers stopped the man at a different location, but he drove off. Police followed him until he crashed near Lambert Airport in Berkeley.

The man was taken into custody. Officers also found a gun, Chief Mackey said.
