ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Alderwoman Christine Ingrassia was robbed at gunpoint Sunday, police said.
Ingrassia was sitting on the porch of her Michigan Avenue home when she and a friend were robbed. Two Illinois men were charged in connection with the crime Monday.
Ingrassia said two men armed with guns walked up to her and her friend Sunday and demanded their property. They took Ingrassia's cellphone and $20 before running off.
Charging documents said police tracked Ingrassia's phone until they found two men, Dinish Watson and Candree Akins. Watson had Ingrassia's phone and a pistol. A second gun was found in a car the men were in.
Police said Ingrassia identified the men, who were each charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action.
