Police have charged the woman accused of stealing a puppy from a St. Charles County pet store.

Surveillance video allegedly shows Carolyn Childers and her 10-year-old daughter inside Petland in Lake St. Louis. You can see the young girl appear to put the dog in a large bag and walk out of frame.

In an interview with police, Childers said, "It crossed my mind to take the puppy since they were so busy and wouldn't notice the puppy being gone."

Childers is charged with stealing an animal and endangering the welfare of a child.
The Bich-Poo puppy that was stolen is valued at nearly $2,000.
