Cardinals center fielder Dexter Fowler continued his tour-de-force of charity in St. Louis just prior to Friday's game against the Phillies.
Both literally and figuratively, Fowler and his wife presented a large check for $100,000 to Cardinals Care on the Busch Stadium field. The check plans to be used for Redbird Rookies, a charitable organization which allows kids to play baseball who may not otherwise have the opportunity. Uniforms, balls, bats, and all other equipment are donated to the children.
Following the check presentation, Fowler and his daughter Naya threw out the first pitch -- just two feet apart from each other.
Earlier Friday, Fowler tweeted, "Excited to go meet the kids [Boys and Girls Club] & spend the day with them. This is just the beginning of my lifelong commitment to them."
