Thousands of Pfizer shots to be administered next week at The Family Arena in St. Charles

Three mass vaccination drive-thru clinics are planned for March 25-27

ST CHARLES, Mo. — The St. Charles County Department of Public Health is partnering with the Missouri National Guard for three additional mass vaccination events at the Family Arena in St. Charles next week.

The drive-thru events will be held March 25-27. St. Charles County Public Health Director, Demetrius Cianci-Chapman said approximately 8,000 people will receive their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccines will be by appointment only. People will be chosen from the St. Charles County Health Department's vaccine registry. Cianci-Chapman said there are currently 90,000 people on the registry. You do not have to be a St. Charles County resident or work in the county to join the registry.

On Thursday, 4,000 vaccines were administered outside The Family Arena to people who qualified under Phase 1A and Phase 1B, Tiers 1 and 2 as outlined by the state.

Cianci-Chapman said he anticipates critical infrastructure employees that fall into Phase 1B, Tier 3 will be able to register for next week's clinics.

According to a release by the health department, more than 70,000 St. Charles County residents have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. That's roughly 18% of St. Charles County's population.
