FLORISSANT, Mo. – One week after the fatal shooting at Show-Me’s bar and restaurant, the owner and manager are speaking out.

“It doesn't define us, what happened here,” said manager Nick Wegman, who has worked at the restaurant for five years. “Everybody wanted to come out and show support.”

He said Show-Me’s is involved in the local community, supporting fundraisers and non-profits.

“It's one thing to be successful. It's another to take that success and spread it around,” Wegman said. “We're doing a St. Baldrick's fundraiser in March. I'll be shaving my head for sure.”

In turn, customers eagerly came back as soon as the restaurant re-opened after the shooting. Over the weekend, online groups organized events to eat at the restaurant.

“The fact that people have come in and supported us is overwhelming,” said Ron Cote, one of the owners. The Florissant location is owned by several families.

“There's probably not a better place to do business than Florissant, Missouri,” Cote said. “It's a caring community. They all want to do something. They all want to help.”

There have been no charges in this case. It is still under review by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
