ST. LOUIS – Two firefighters suffered minor injures while battling an apartment fire at Carroll and Dolman Street in downtown St. Louis Friday afternoon.

Officials said two kids were playing in one of the bedrooms when they knocked over a space heater, starting the fire.

While battling the fire, one of the firefighters was injured when he fell through the second floor onto the first floor. The second firefighter was injured trying to pull the other one up.

There were three kids and one adult, their mother, in the apartment at the time.

The mom got everyone out of the apartment safely.
