28-year-old woman charged with endangering the welfare of her 6 children

DFS was called to Renshaw's home and found it was not in a sanitary condition for children to live in.

ST. LOUIS – A 28-year-old woman from Bonne Terre has been charged with multiple felony counts of endangering her six children in two different incidents.

In October 2017, Kristen Renshaw, tried to flee the scene of her crashed vehicle at the Grab-n-Go in Leadwood. Officers eventually took her into custody. Her six children were in the vehicle during the time of the crash. Renshaw’s children range in age from 2 to 8.

While in the squad car, Renshaw unbuckled her seatbelt while in handcuffs and climbed to the front of the patrol vehicle and tried to unlock the door. During this time, an officer was checking on the welfare of her children. When he returned to the squad car, Renshaw kicked him in the knee and upper leg area. She was eventually detained.

Renshaw’s license was also suspended at the time of the crash.

The children were turned over to custody of the biological father.

On March 9, Renshaw was arrested for endangering her children after police were called to Lake Timberline. She was intoxicated with six children and was trying to pick up two more, when someone witnessed her stumbling through the roadway.

DFS was called to Renshaw’s home and found it was not in a sanitary condition for children to live in.

One neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, said the house is an eyesore.

“The floors were a mess, the carpets. There’s trash,” he said.

He said conditions inside are just as awful.

“Right after they moved out I walked over there to see how bad it was and it was a wreck,” he said.

Other neighbors said the family was trouble and yelling could always be heard coming from the home.

Renshaw is being held on a $30,000 bond.
