ST. LOUIS – Operations are back to normal at Lambert Airport after a flight was diverted back to St. Louis Wednesday night.

The flight was supposed to land in Atlanta at 8:30 p.m.

The airport said the Delta pilot reported something of concern and decided to return to the gate.

Firefighters checked out the exterior of the plane and didn't note anything out of the ordinary. But out of an abundance of caution, they requested a more in-depth security check.

The security check concluded after about an hour and there were no issues reported.
