A boil order issued for Illinois American Water customers in 12 cities on Wednesday has been lifted.
A press release from Illinois American Water said customers no longer need to boil water for drinking an cooking. The boil order lasted less than 24 hours.
The order affected customers in 12 Metro East cities:
- Alorton
- Cahokia
- Canteen
- Canteen Township
- Caseyville
- Centerville
- East St. Louis
- Fairmont City
- Lovejoy
- National City
- Sauget
- Washington Park
