Clayco giving $500,000 to fill Loop Trolley funding gap

A potential opening date wasn't immediately clear.

Clayco and its St. Louis-based real estate investment firm, CRG, said Friday they'd give $500,000 to the Loop Trolley, which said it needed the money to begin operating.

Bob Clark, CEO of Chicago-based development firm Clayco, said the companies would commit to giving the funds, plus one full-time project manager and a project executive "to make sure The Loop Trolley stays on track and reaches its full potential."

"The Loop Trolley is an important part of the vision to create a vibrant neighborhood in a historic area that brings the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County together," Clark said in a statement.
