MADISON COUNTY, Ill. – The Madison County Sheriff's Office is looking for a 39-year-old woman who hasn't been seen since Sunday morning.

Police said Adria Jean Hatten was last seen in Wood River, Illinois, at around 10:30 Sunday morning.

Police said Hatten is 5-foot-5 and 150 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes and has a cross tattoo on the inside of her left forearm. She was wearing an aqua-colored, V-neck T-shirt, blue jeans and brown calf-high, high-heel boots.

Police said Hatten's white 2013 Ford Focus was found abandoned and stuck in a muddy field off of Big Bend Road in Madison, Ill. around 9 a.m. on Jan 23.

"Absolutely out of the ordinary for this neighborhood," said Lindsey Chambers who has lived next to Hatten and her husband for about two years.

"You know, you see her often so it isn't like her to disappear," Chambers said.

The news that Hatten's car was found abandoned, and she's missing, is hard to take.

"It was absolutely shocking to hear that she wasn't home, and that she was missing," she said.

Chamber and her family are in the process of moving. After hearing about Hatten's disappearance, Chambers said, it's making their move seem a little more necessary.

"Absolutely, I had a neighbor send me the Facebook post telling me to keep an eye out, and had I heard anything. I think we are all on edge, this is right in our neighborhood," she said.

Hatten's son said the family is worried, and hoping for a safe return.

Chambers is also hoping for the same,

"It just doesn't seem to me like anyone would want to leave their stuff behind and take off," Chambers said.
