Early morning St. Charles apartment fire injures 1, displaces 4

The fire, which began on a first-floor apartment unit, was quickly contained.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. — An early morning apartment fire just off Interstate 70 injured one person and displaced four.

The fire first broke out just before 2 a.m. Wednesday at the Metro on 5th apartments, just off Veterans Memorial Parkway in St. Charles. According to the St. Charles Fire Department, the fire began in a first-floor apartment. That fire was contained in a timely manner.

One person was transported with minor injuries. Their condition is unknown at this time. Four other residents in the complex were displaced.
