How the DOJ deal impacted Ferguson

Chief Moss says there is much more community policing in Ferguson. He also says there is also more input from the community in regard to law enforcement, including a citizen review board to investigate issues of police misconduct.

KSDK - Major police reforms are already making a difference in Ferguson.

A federal judge approved the city's deal with the Department of Justice after Michel Brown was shot and killed by an officer in 2014. The reforms included diversity training for police and reviewing use of force guidelines.

Delrish Moss, Ferguson's first official African American Police Chief, started working for the city shortly after the DOJ decree was agreed upon.

Prior to the DOJ deal, Ferguson had four black police officers, now 12 African American officers work for the department.
