ST. LOUIS — A commitment to give the same opportunities to everyone regardless of race. That's what a non-profit is promising in the St. Louis region.

Wednesday, Forward Through Ferguson, the non-profit successor to the Ferguson Commission, outlined a plan for racial equity in St. Louis by the year 2039 — the 25th anniversary of the death of Michael Brown and the unrest that followed.

Among the goals, Forward Through Ferguson says the group is committed to "radial collaboration" and policy and systems change.

"Racial Equity is a state in which life outcomes are no longer predictable by race," the plan states.

The Ferguson Commission's report found that in several categories from childhood poverty to life expectancy African Americans fair far worse than whites in St. Louis and the statistics are worse than national averages.
