Since Officer Snyder's death, donations have been pouring into Backstoppers. The organization helps the families of injured and fallen first responders.

The Hair Saloon for Men in Sappington is normally closed on Sundays. Last weekend however, the owner opened the shop for a special Backstoppers fundraiser.

Sylists from all 13 area stores donated their time and talent offering haircuts in exchange for donations. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be given to Backstoppers for the Snyder family.

"We know that the family is going to be dealing with a lot of stuff in the coming weeks and months, so we know that the donations here today ease that pain just a little bit," said Tom Twellman.

Twellman also has a very personal reason to support Backstoppers. His mother's cousin, Jennings police sergeant Ken Koeller Jr., was shot and killed in the line of duty in 1987 while investigating a burglary call.
