Hidden Valley withdraws zipline proposal

A letter from the ski resort said restrictions on the motion passed on Monday would keep them from reaping the return on the $2.5 million the project would cost.
Hidden Valley Ski Resort opens for season

WILDWOOD, Mo. – Hidden Valley Ski Resort withdrew their zipline proposal Friday, just a few days after an amended proposal was approved by the Wildwood Planning and Zoning Commission.

On Monday, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted down a motion to allow the proposed zipline to operate during daylight hours year-round. Later in the meeting, they unanimously approved a motion to approve the zipline plan but only allowing certain hours and requiring the zipline to be closed for five months of the year.

According to a letter from the Hidden Valley Senior VP, the $2.5 million project would not yield the return on investment necessary to move forward with the project under the approved motion.

The letter said they will seek other options for the property.
