FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. – A man is facing 12 charges after police said he created a fake online profile to meet children younger than 17 and solicit them for nude photographs, and police worry there may be more victims.
According to a press release from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Daniel Avetta, 28, was arrested on a federal indictment that included four counts of production of child pornography, six counts of receipt of child pornography and two counts of enticement of a minor. Officers said he used the fake name Jessica Gable to trick his victims.
Investigators said there were several victims in Franklin, Gasconade, Maries, Jefferson, St. Francois, Iron and Washington counties. Police are asking anyone who believes their child was in contact with Avetta to contact the Franklin County Sheriff's Office to file a report.
The investigation is ongoing.
