Her son went missing, then she called police... and the quick-thinking, concerned mother may be who ultimately prevented yesterday's events in Belleville. After classes were canceled at two Belleville high schools, the mother of the student placed into custody by means of a 'credible' threat reported her handgun missing after he abruptly left their house hours prior, prompting police to make moves to secure students at both schools. Still, the mother has a message for parents: "Pay more close attention to your children. Be aware of their surroundings."

Mother claims a St. Louis cop 'raped and censored'... and even though the incident allegedly happened 10 years ago, Michelle Roesch is still fighting for justice. In 2008, Roesch said she received help from two officers who helped her abusive ex-boyfriend to stay away from her — but when one of them drug her into a bathroom, assaulted and raped her, she said, a restraining order was placed. Even then, Roesch said the Circuit Attorney's Office was not going to be charged, a statement which held true — he was cleared of any allegations.

St. Louis' favorite deli celebrates a milestone... and they want you and your stomach to be a part of the all-smiles celebration. Thursday, Gioia's Deli celebrates their 100th birthday in St. Louis, and what better way to spend the centennial celebration than by getting a Hot Salami sandwich for only $5? We know, you're probably lining up outside their deli as you're reading this, and we don't blame you; but, maybe hold off until 10 a.m. when they open for business. Even then, live easy knowing their summer block party kicks off today, running each Thursday through August.
