She gave the gift of life and on Friday, she got to throw out a first pitch before the Cardinals game.

Laurie Jansen was willing to donate a kidney to her mother, but her mother didn't want her to go through surgery.

However, Laurie still had the urge to save a life and that's exactly what she did for little Blake Bahr, by donating her right kidney to him.

It's nearly nine months later and now both Blake and Laurie are bringing awareness to the need for organ donors.

Laurie got to throw out the first pitch before the Cardinal's game and Laurie, who happens to be a high school softball coach was thrilled. She was happy to see Blake doing so well and she hopes others are inspired to become organ donors and save lives.
