ST. LOUIS – Police used spike strips to stop a man driving a stolen car in the Ville Neighborhood.

A spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said detectives saw a Dodge Challenger with Illinois temporary tags driving suspiciously in the Ville Neighborhood. When they attempted to pull the car over, the driver refused to stop.

Detectives used spike strips to try to stop the car, but the driver continued to flee toward the Central West End neighborhood.

The man eventually stopped the car and attempted to run away, but was taken into custody. Detectives discovered the car was reported stolen from Nashville, Illinois.

Two other cars were driving suspiciously with the Challenger, but police are still investigating to see if they were involved in the theft.
