ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A student was taken to the St. Ann Police Department after bringing a gun to Ritenour High School Wednesday morning.
A spokesperson from the Ritenour School District said the student was asked to go to the assistant principal’s office after there was reason to believe the student might have been carrying a weapon ‘based on an incident that happened recently in the community.’ The spokesperson has not said what the incident was.
The gun was taken away and the student was taken to the police department. The student will be facing disciplinary actions that could include suspension or expulsion, a spokesperson said.
The spokesperson did not know if the gun was loaded or unloaded. It was found in the student's backpack.
