Where kids can get free meals in St. Louis, Metro East

Restaurants and non-profits are offering free or discounted meals while schools are closed due to coronavirus concerns

ST. LOUIS — Schools, restaurants and non-profits are working to make sure kids are able to eat while they are out of school.

Operation Food Search, a non-profit, is in contact with schools and state agencies and it is working to help provide meals. It is asking for donations in response to the increased need.

St. Louis Public Schools is giving free meals on Fridays only beginning April 17 at 33 locations for any child 18 and under. Families will be able to pick up enough meals each Friday to last seven days. Click here for a full list of locations. 

Goodcents Deli will provide meals for kids at its locations in Arnold, Valley Park or on South Lindbergh. 

"The offer stands all day, until schools are back open," the company posted on its Facebook page.

The Rockwood School District is offering meals for students that would usually receive them at school. 

“We have identified three school locations in Rockwood – LaSalle Springs Middle, Selvidge Middle and Rockwood South Middle,” said Rockwood Executive Director of Student Services Dr. Terry Harris. “We will have staff present at those schools from 8-10 a.m., Monday-Friday, March 23-April 3.”
