Man charged after guns found in car in Fox High School parking lot

Lockwood said he had the rifle in his car because he was going to pawn it after picking up his sister.

ARNOLD, Mo. – An Arnold man is facing federal charges after guns were found in his car in the parking lot of Fox High School Tuesday.

A school staff member saw a rifle in the backseat of 24-year-old Dustin Lockwood's car and called police, according to a press release.

Officers from the Arnold Police Department along with officials from the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms unit (ATF) responded to the scene and found a pistol, rifle, suspected homemade silencer and multiple bags and boxes containing "explosive related material."

ATF also said they found bomb-making material when they searched his home.

Lockwood denied that the explosive material in his car and home were possessed for illegal purposes.

Lockwood said he was there to pick up his sister and said he had the rifle in his car because he was going to pawn it after picking her up.

Officials said Lockwood has been charged with possession of firearms in a school zone.
