St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger's office said Wednesday that the county has achieved a certification called ACT work ready community. Receiving it indicates a state, region or county has the job skills employers are looking for, according to a release.
The certification is based on the number of individuals in St. Louis County who demonstrate proficiency in applied mathematics, understanding workplace documents and graphic literacy, Stenger's statement said, adding that the county tests showed it has three times the number of highly proficient workers required for certification.
