SAFRANBOLU, Turkey - Guinness World Records has declared a new record holder for the title of tallest living female teenager in the world.

Seventeen-year-old Rumeysa Gelgi is 7 feet .09 inches tall. She received her title in a special presentation in her hometown in Turkey.

Gelgi's doctor measured her during three different times in the same day, in the presence of a Guinness rep. Guinness says medical experts believe Gelgi has Weaver syndrome, a genetic condition which causes rapid growth.

She called becoming a Guinness record-holder one of her biggest dreams.

Guinness says she's shown tremendous courage in the way she's dealt with her condition and it was an honor to meet her and present her with the award.
