ST. LOUIS – Several crashes in the St. Louis area caused delays during the Monday morning rush hour.
Wet roads could be to blame for another crash involving a tractor-trailer crash on I-44 near Shrewsbury Avenue. A vehicle was in the eastbound lane when the driver lost control around 2 a.m. and crashed into the median, jumping into the westbound lanes.
Only one east and westbound lane were open for several hours causing a major backup and delays for morning commuters. The accident was cleared and all lanes of I-44 opened around 11:15 a.m.
No word on any injuries at this time.
The north and southbound lanes of Lindbergh Boulevard, just north of I-64, are currently closed after a pickup truck crashed into a utility pole Monday morning.
The northbound lanes were closed around 6:45 a.m., followed by the southbound lanes around 7.
No word on any injuries or when Lindbergh Blvd. will open.
