A month ago the idea of Vianney making it to the semifinals seemed far-fetched to anyone outside the program. The Golden Griffins were a mediocre 4-5, but as we have learned the past three weeks, their record was the only thing mediocre about them.

Vianney showed the state just how for real they are last week when they took down the top team in the state, Chaminade. The Golden Griffins avenged a regular season loss with a 63-44 win in the state quarterfinals.

Vianney was led by sophomore Kyren Williams, who scored a game high four touchdowns in the victory.

They will take on Staley in Friday's semifinal, it is Vianney's first semifinal appearance since 1968.
