The great ride for Zumwalt West will go on for one more day, this time the destination is the state championship game.

Patrick Connor delivered the biggest hit in the school's history. His opposite field single in the bottom of the sixth plated the winning run and clinched a spot in the state championship game for the Jaguars. It will be the school's first appearance in the title game.

While Connor played hero, Jacob Verschoore was definitely his wing man. After Vianney seized momentum with a three run top of the fifth to take a 3-1 lead, Verschoore delivered a two run blast over the wall in right center to even the score and get the large West crowd back in the game.

Zumwalt West will take on Jeff City on Saturday for the Class 5 title.
