ST. LOUIS – The hometown kid is getting some love while he’s back in St. Louis. So much love, he even has his own day.

Jayson Tatum had one heck of a rookie season with the Boston Celtics. Mayor Lyda Krewson proclaimed July 14 as ‘Jayson Tatum Day.’

The former Chaminade College Preparatory School star returned home this week to help teach the Jayson Tatum Youth Basketball ProCamp.

He also threw out the first pitch at Busch Stadium on Friday.

And it's not all fame and fortune for the budding NBA superstar. He is using his platform to give back. Tatum is collecting school supplies and offering a chance to win an autographed Celtics jersey. You can find more information on his Instagram page.
