Kolten Wong is headed back to the disabled list with another arm injury, but this time it is his right arm.
Wong suffered an injury to his right triceps in the sixth inning of Wednesday night's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. He will hit the 10-day DL and be replaced by infielder Paul DeJong.
Since returning from his first stint on the DL, Wong raised his season average to .301 with a six-game hitting streak in less than a week of action. He missed 13 games from May 27 to June 8 with a left elbow injury.
His replacement, Paul DeJong, has been productive in two triple-A games since being sent down earlier this week, homering twice and scoring four runs for the Memphis Redbirds. His 13 home runs are ninth in the Pacific Coast League.
DeJong's offensive success has not been limited to his time in the minor leagues. He homered off the first pitch he saw in the major leagues and tallied four extra-base hits in 41 at bats for the Cardinals.
He will wear uniform no. 11.
