Blues place Jaden Schwartz on injured reserve

The Blues forward will be re-evaluated in six weeks.

The Blues announced Sunday forward Jaden Schwartz was placed on the injured reserve with a right ankle injury.

Schwartz suffered the injury during the Blues' 6-1 win against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. The forward shares ninth in the NHL overall with 35 points — 14 goals and 21 assists — and ranks second in the with a +23 rating in 30 games. In his seventh season with the Note, Schwartz has accumulated 247 points — 103 goals and 144 assists.

The Blues recalled Ivan Barbashev from the Chicago Wolves. Barbashev, 21, has appeared in 17 games for the AHL affiliate this season, with eight points — four goals and four assists. In 36 NHL games, Barbashev has recorded 12 points — five goals and seven assists. He was drafted by the Blues in the second round, 33rd overall, of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Schwartz will be re-evaluated in six weeks.
