DOUGLAS, Ga. – This viral video is sure to warm your heart this holiday season.

Dallas Smith Jr. was passing through Douglas, Ga., when he stopped to eat at the Huddle House. That’s when he witnessed a pure act of kindness.

Smith captured the moment when a Huddle House employee stopped what she was doing to cut pancakes for an injured veteran. He noticed the veteran’s arm was bandaged and when his food arrived, the younger man with the veteran began to help.

“The younger man moved his personal plate to the side and was fixing to get [the veteran] situated and that’s when the lady behind the counter said, ‘I’ll get it,’” Smith said.

The woman then puts what she had in her hands down and began cutting the pancakes so the veteran and his guest could both enjoy their meals.

Smith said the family members of the veteran reached out after his video went viral on Facebook. He said the veteran is local to Douglas and would frequent the Huddle House.

“It threw me off because you just don’t see people doing stuff like that humbly,” Smith said. “She didn’t look around to see who was looking, she just went and did what she needed to do and she wasn’t ashamed of it.”

Smith posted the video on Facebook not thinking it would get the traction it received. In only two days, his video has already been shared more than 2,330 times with 1,200 reactions.
