Relief from the dangerous heat is almost here

Highs on Monday will struggle to reach 80 degrees!

ST. LOUIS — Some of the most pleasant air of the summer is about to move our way!

While it is still a toasty Sunday afternoon, clouds and a northwest breeze have held the hottest temps and heat indices farther to the south and southeast of St. Louis. The heat warning has been trimmed to our north and northwest and will expire elsewhere by 8 p.m. Sunday.

As far as rain, there is a chance for a few shower or storms through the evening, but many areas, if not most, will remain dry until after midnight when the chances of showers and storms increase.

We will have some morning showers and storms around Monday, especially early in the day, and then they push away. Late day clearing is anticipated and highs will struggle to reach 80°!

Much lower humidity is with us the rest of the week and highs will not get back to around 90 until sometime next weekend. There are no signs of another stretch of hot weather, similar to what we have just endured, in the near future.
