Rain should move out of the St. Louis area early Monday giving way to summer-like weather

The first week of summer in St. Louis will certainly feel like it as we top out around 90 several days this week.

ST. LOUIS — Drier weather will set in Monday, but it's also bringing the heat.

Scattered showers are moving through Monday morning, but our rain chances will slide away and the run will return by the afternoon.

Overall, the week ahead doesn’t look too unsettled. There could be a few storms with a disturbance along about Wednesday and then perhaps a few storms heading toward next weekend. Right now, there doesn’t seem to be much of a sign that a widespread rain is on the way this week. That is GREAT news!

With the heavy rain of the past few days, especially to our west, the Missouri River is again on the rise. It is expected to stay below the previous crest, bus significant rises will again happen over the next few days.

The Mississippi River will rise just a little in most spots as the water drains through and then will resume its steady fall later this week.
