Long Term Care Conference this Thursday

Are you are trying to navigate long-term care options for you or a loved one? There is an organization in St. Louis that can help.

On June 8, VOYCE, a nonprofit agency that educates individuals and their families on choices for long-term care, is hosting a day-long opportunity for older adults and those who care for them to learn about long-term care options and ways to remain independent at home instead of going into assisted living.

The annual VOYCE Long Term Care Conference will help explain long-term care options and debunk common myths and misconceptions about long-term care.

But it’s not all lectures and information on care facilities, insurance, or other support services. The conference will also feature unique and entertaining demonstrations such as:

Vitality Ballet – a unique wellness program for seniors created by professional ballet dancer Vanessa Woods that uses modified ballet exercises from a sitting or standing position to improve balance, stability, range of motion, coordination, and memory.

Support Dogs – which connects seniors with lovable pooches whose wagging tails and wet kisses help lower blood pressure, improve moods, and provide stimulation and companionship.

Artfully Aging – Watercolor artists work with seniors to help them express their thoughts, fears, and memories in creative ways.

If you can’t make the conference, don’t worry. VOYCE can still help! Click here to visit their website and learn more about the organization
