Reports: Michael Strahan to join 'GMA'

Looks like Good Morning America is getting a testosterone supplement.

CNN and The Hollywood Reporter, citing sources at ABC, both report that Michael Strahan will join the network's top-rated morning show. An announcement from the network is expected later this week.

It won't be a full-time job, though. According to the reports, Strahan, 42, will make frequent (though not daily) appearances at 7 a.m. before heading to his regular gig at Live! with Kelly and Michael, the popular syndicated talk show he co-hosts with Kelly Ripa.

Strahan joins a GMA lineup that is currently overwhelmingly female following the departures of news anchor Josh Elliott this week and meteorologist Sam Championin December. George Stephanopoulos is the only male anchor on a team that includes Amy Robach (who replaced Elliott on Monday), Robin Roberts, Lara Spencer and Ginger Zee.

Strahan is an NFL Hall of Fame defensive end who has made a smooth transition to broadcasting. He's been an analyst on Fox NFL Sunday since 2008 and joined Live!in 2012.
