Believe it or not, summer concert season arrives this weekend at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre. It kicks off with Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, and Rick Springfield Saturday night. Dana Dean just discovered a place where you can catch a shuttle and enjoy a brand new patio while you wait.
This summer is going to rock. Everyone from country star Luke Bryan to rocker Rick Springfield will take the stage at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre. And when they do, you can start and end your night right next door at Hollywood Casino where they offer free parking.
Todd George, Hollywood Casino VP and GM, said, "We have free parking, covered parking, garage parking, so a lot of people were coming over. So we instituted a shuttle that runs back and forth for all the shows at the ampitheatre."
The shuttle, which costs $10, makes it easier to get in and out of concerts.
Todd said, "We have a great lineup but some of the challenges are getting in and out of there, so this takes the challenge out."
The shuttle service to the amphitheatre has become extremely popular at Hollywood Casino.
"Where people were lining up, it became a great place to congregate. So we had a portable bar out there the last couple years," he said.
So this year, they added a permanent bar and patio located right where people line up for the shuttle, which is just outside of the restaurant 99 Hops House.
"Added lights, amazing plants, got the STL logo out there... what was fun last year will be really fun this year," he said.
99 Hops House is a haven for beer lovers.
"It features at least 99 kinds of beer," Todd said.
It's the perfect place to stop for dinner before a concert, whether you're in the mood for burgers or barbeque.
He said, "Before and after shows, we have live entertainment over here so we kinda started the eat, sleep, play, rock on and we don't want the night to end."
99 Hops House is located at 777 Casino Center Drive in Maryland Heights. The phone number is (855) 785-4263.
