Inside a $2 million St. Albans 'castle' for sale

We love taking you inside beautiful homes around St. Louis. And today- we have a good one for you- here's a little tease - the shower has a waterfall. It's that big.

ST. ALBANS, MO. - St. Albans is a community about 35 miles west of St. Louis with scenic views and some of the most luxurious homes in the area, like this one on the market for nearly $2 million that would be suitable for any king or queen.

"You do feel like you're in your own castle," said homeowner Kevin Francis.

With four turrets, it really does look like a castle. Homeowners Kevin and Dana Francis gave Show Me St. Louis a tour.

"I don't think you see many houses like this in St. Louis... it's kind of Gothic because of the turrets and all that but it's also French Country, I would say, because of plaster and cabinets and that sort of thing," Kevin's wife Dana said.

The couple run a company called Surgical Direct, which supplies equipment for cataract surgery to hospitals and have lived in the home for three years.

Dana said, "It's a great house for entertaining, had a lot of parties here. This house just swallows up 100 people, no big deal."

The 8,900-square-foot home has 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. To see one of the coolest features, you'll have to walk through the master bathroom and go inside one of the homes turrets, where you'll find a shower like you've never seen before.

"Master shower is a three story ceiling with waterfalls. Hard to beat that feature because you use it everyday," Kevin said.

Dana said, "The shower, everybody loves the shower, because it's huge. You could have a party in the shower."

The homeowners favorite feature is actually outside. With $350,000 worth of landscaping, including the pool, it's no wonder they love to spend so much time outside.

The are moving so they can move on to their next project.

Kevin said, "We've always liked to do projects like this, build a lot of homes. We didn't build this home, but spent $750,000 rehabbing this home so it was like building a home, and we have our next project lined up, ready to go."

"We're ready to try on something different. This is done, it's beautiful, we're ready for something else," said Dana.
