Thai ice cream rolls now served in the Delmar Loop

Dana Dean explains how this recipe has now made it's way to St. Louis.

Between Blueberry Hill and Vintage Vinyl, you'll find a new addition to the Delmar Loop you'll want to indulge in.

At Snow Factory, they're not scooping ice cream, they're rolling ice cream. And these ice cream rolls are like nothing customers we spoke with have ever seen. This isn't the cold stuff you're used to, this is Thai Ice Cream.

Delmar Loop's newest store is all thanks to 22 year old college student Van Liu who decided to launch a business during his senior year at University of Missouri- St. Louis.

He said, "I have to make sure i spend enough time on studying and enough time on working."

Van grew up in China and moved to the U.S. when he was a teenager. He first tried this style of ice cream 18 months ago on a trip to Thailand. Then, when he saw a friend open a shop in  New York City selling Thai Ice Cream, Van convinced his friend to sell him the recipe for $35,000.
