The Flying Wallendas are back in St. Louis

SHOW ME ST. LOUIS- World renowned performers are in town getting ready for St. Louis' own one-ring circus.

"This is our 27th year with Circus Flora and here in St. Louis," said Tino Wallenda, The Flying Wallendas.

The "Flying Wallendas" feel at home inside the the Circus Flora tent, more than 20 feet above the audience. Tino represents the 6th generation of the Wallenda family.

"They've seen our kids grow up here at Circus Flora and it's wonderful it's like seeing old friends," explained Wallenda.

"The acts are structured around a story called The Pawn," said Jack Marsh, Circus Flora Artistic Director.

Every performer represents a chess piece.

"They'll be making various chess moves as those pieces on the high wire," explained Marsh.

The famous family knows winning comes down to having the right moves.

"We'll be doing some special Wallenda pyramids that have been highlighted during our careers," said Wallenda.

The Wallendas are in town to wow you. Like the game of chess, this show is one the entire family can enjoy.

You can see Circus Flora's new show The Pawn from May 29-June 22 under the big top next to Powell Hall. Tickets start at $12. To purchase tickets call 314-289-4040 or visit
